Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (often referred as "GRAW2") is the fourth installment of the Ghost Recon series of squad-based tactical shooters. For those new to the series, Ghost Recon places you in control of a fictional Special Forces group of the US Army in the near future. The game takes place in 2014 when Mexico has fallen into Civil War and violence along the US-Mexico border has become a threat.
In GRAW2, you must strategically form your squad of four for a mission (example, deciding if you need a gunner or a grenadier, a medic or a marksman). You can also choose your equipment to best handle the upcoming situation. A unique dynamic of GRAW is the use of robotic drones for scouting. You have access to an aerial drone and a ground drone for spotting the enemy so that you can plan your attack.
GRAW2 features many graphical enhancements including object translucency and light. New lighting effects, described as "God Rays," realistically simulate light bending around opaque surfaces. Smoke is also improved, reacting to light and wind.
