The simExchange website has been buffed by the Web 2.0 fairy. Following user feedback, the new website features a brighter bolder look with all the Web 2.0 lookiness that has become so hip. Everything should be as easily accessible as it ever was (unless you don’t think something is easily accessible, then you should let us know).
Beyond our impossible to miss new logo, brighter and clearer tables, and more color-coded information, you will find that the stock charts have been upgraded into true candlestick form. The new stock charts let you quickly see how a stock traded intra-day (each stick indicates the opening price, the intraday low, intraday high, and closing price). If a stock was up or unchanged the bar is green and if the stock was down the bar is red. Mousing over the chart will now display the exact price represented by the chart bars.
The Game News page now first displays most valued (most highly bid for) articles, images, and videos. Previously, the page only displayed the most valued articles. You can now also quickly see which images and videos are getting the most bids, just like you could with articles.
As requested, your Portfolio page now displays today’s change in the positions tables. Note this is today’s change in value of your position and not the stock price. For long positions, this would be the same figure, but for short positions, it is the opposite value. For example, if a stock you are short is down 3% today, your portfolio will show that your short position is up 3% today.
The Content 50 Rankings page now includes the number of Up Bids and Down Bids the player has received.
The new website looks best in Internet Explorer 7, Safari 2, Firefox 2 for Windows (with Clear Type enabled) and Mac, Camino, and Opera 9 for Mac. The website has been tested to work in Internet Explorer 6. Please report any problems you encounter using the Question Form and include your browser and operating system.
