Motorstorm is an off-road racing game exclusive to the PS3. This new IP by Evolution Studios, makers of World Rally Championship, has been highly anticipated since its unveiling alongside the PS3 at E3 2005. It is a launch title for the PS3 in Europe. The game is known for its extremely realistic graphics that create a sense of speed (motion blurring effects). Motorstorm features numerous types of vehicles, from dirt bikes to 4x4s to dune buggies to pickup trucks. Each type of vehicle has certain advantages in this environment. Bikes are faster and can make huge jumps while big rigs can muscle their opponents out of the way. The game encourages aggressive driving and damage actually affects your opponents’ vehicles (but in an arcade action sort of way).

You can use the Sixaxis controller’s motion sensitivity to drive your vehicle. Your perspective will change between third-person and first-person depending on the vehicle. The game will feature online multiplayer for up to 8 players in North America and Europe (the Japanese version did not feature online multiplayer). The game will also feature downloadable vehicles and tracks.
