Battlefield 2142 is the follow-up to Battlefield 2 in the series of games with the same name. It is a team-based online multiplayer first person shooter involving vehicles. The setting is a Sci-Fi 22nd century Earth in a new ice age. The game uses a modified version of the Battlefield 2 engine.
Battlefield 2142 features the traditional Battlefield conquest mode with up to 64 players and a new mode called Titan where 2 teams battle to destroy each other's "MK-1 Titan," a gunship, by wearing down its shields and boarding it. The game features four classes with two trees for each class.
Public criticism of the game includes the inclusion of dynamic in-game advertising and the lack of widescreen support.
