Lost Planet: Extreme Condition (Xbox 360) is an Xbox 360 exclusive produced by the makers of Mega Man and Onimusha. The player takes the role of Wayne, a human, who wears power armor called Vital Suits. The game's setting takes place in the distant future on a frozen planet where thermal energy is depleting and must be gathered. Lost Planet is a third-person, mission-based action game in which the player will battle aliens called Akrid with conventional weapons like machine guns and rocket launchers but also sci-fi weapons such as lasers and plasma guns by equipping Vital Suits. The game involves exploration of vast environments using tools like grappling hooks.

The game will feature online multiplayer support over Xbox Live featuring 32 players in competitive play with an additional co-op play feature. The competitive play features 4 modes, including elimination and team elimination (similar to a deathmatch), Post Grab, and Fugitive. Post Grab is a team game where each team tries to capture posts scattered around the map and protect them. Fugitive makes one player a target and all other players must hunt that player down.
