Based on suggestions by BaronDeMaulignac and Pacoanime, additional information is now accessible from the Quick Portfolio on any screen with an Order Book. Now you can get all the relevant information you need for the trade without going to the Portfolio page.
Margin rules have been changed regarding limit orders (orders placed in advanced mode that specify price). Open limit orders now count against your available margin to buy or short sell stock. You can only place limit buy orders that are fully covered by your available cash plus Time Trust subtracted by the cost of outstanding buy and short sell orders. Additionally, your available margin to short will also be frozen as you submit limit buy and short sell orders.
You can know quickly see all recent user comments posted on any subject on the simExchange from the Community section. You can also reply to users and contribution to the discussion directly from this screen. The Recent Submissions page of the Community section has also been optimized to load faster. The rank numbers following usernames are now based on the previous day's close rather than intra-day rank.
DKP bounty for finding bugs, presentation errors, and making suggestions that find their way into the site have begun to be paid. Bug fixes include the problem first identified by BaronDeMaulignac with margin caps affecting the sale of stock when not shorting. The problem with changing passwords as identified by RoommateDave has also been fixed. The Best Rank Attained stat in the portfolio should now be updating properly. Other changes include reorganization of the Order Status page inspired by suggestions from Wultsch.
Shares of PlayStation 3 broke 4,000 DKP today (forecasts 40 million units sold worldwide), rising 161.47 (+4.04%), following reports that EB Games and Gamestop preorders of Sony's next generation console, PLAYSTATION 3, sold out nationwide as stores opened their doors yesterday.
The automated market maker has been improved to provide more relevant prices when players submit limit orders. Please check that your orders (both market and limit orders) are being filled correctly. If you have a question about the price your order was filled at, please send me a detailed explanation of what prices and quantities you saw on the order book; what price, quantity, and type of order you submitted, and the response from the system messages window.
Based on suggestions by user EugeneYouGenius, you can now see your available cash, Time Trust, and margin to short anywhere you trade. This is seen in the Quick Portfolio box right under the Order Book. The Quick Portfolio also informs you your current position in the stock, whether it be long or short and how many shares. This feature is available in both Basic and Advanced trading modes.
Based on user feedback, the Community Page enables you to quickly see all recently submitted content for all games. This section will feature many aggregated views of community activity on the site.
User Profiles have also been improved. Your profile will now share what games you are bullish (positive) and what games you are bearish (negative). The profile also lists numerous statistics about the user.
A new feature called the Time Trust has been implemented. The Time Trust is a small reserve you can use to purchase stocks. Every 15 minutes, 50 DKP will be deposited into your Time Trust. The next time you purchase stock, your time trust will be drawn down before your cash reserve. However, your Time Trust is capped at 5,000 DKP. You must spend it or else your Time Trust deposits will be suspended until your Time Trust is below the cap.
The Beta 2 phase has kicked off with the reset of all accounts that featured exploitive trading. All accounts still retain their credit for submitting content. All transaction histories should now be accurate for the account.
A balancing change has been made in regard to credit for content submission. The credit for submitting news is still 1,500 DKP, submitting screenshots is still 1,000 DKP, and submitting trailers is still 5,000 DKP. However, making the front page of a stock is now just an additional double DKP bonus. This is because nearly all content submissions at this point will become front page features. The penalty for spamming is still -15,000 DKP, -10,000 DKP, and -50,000 DKP respectively.
Good luck!
