The simExchange now closes its daily stock prices at 12:00 AM Pacific Time. Daily price changes will be reset. However, there will be no break in trading.
The Getting Started tutorial has been revamped to include changes made to the site. A new article on Advanced Trading is also now available.
The simExchange has begun making margin calls on accounts. A margin call may occur if your account is severely in the negative for DKP in cash or available margin to short. Margin calls are executed through forced sales or covers of large positions at market prices. Transactions made for margin calls will be marked as "Margin Call."
A content control system has been implemented to remove spamming and bad links. If a content submission is marked as a bad link, the credit for submitting the content is rescinded, including any bonus if the content made the front page for the stock. A bad link includes broken links or links to the wrong content such as screenshots for NFL Madden 2005 instead of NFL Madden '07. If a content submission is marked as spam, then the spammer's account will be penalized with a 10x penalty of the standard submission credit for that content type. Bonus credit is also rescinded. You will see these adjustments to your account on the transaction history page.
The new transaction history page provides a complete history of every transaction concerning your account--not just stock transactions. Transaction types include stock purchases, stock sales, content submission earnings, content bonuses, and general account transactions.
The page is still going through design work. The plan is to allow you to see exactly what content you submitted for the transaction.
A margin system has been implemented to control short selling. The available margin for shorting is currently 60% of cash subtracted by short equity. This requirement may be adjusted depending on trading dynamics. A margin call system has not yet been implement, so at this time, you will not be forced to sell off long positions or buy back short positions, but you will not be able to short any longer.
Numerous bugs with the market order feature have now been fixed based on exploits discovered by users Dumgai and Anorphius.
You are now rewarded for each news article, screenshot, and trailer you submit. Rewards are currently 1,500 DKP for each news article, 1,000 DKP for each screenshot, and 5,000 DKP for each trailer. If the content you submit becomes "popular"--appearing on the stock page--then you will receive a bonus 15,000 DKP for each news article, 10,000 DKP for each screenshot, and 50,000 DKP for each trailer. These values are subject to change due to balancing issues.
Bugs in the trading system and automated market maker exploited by user RFan123 to reach near infinite DKP have now been fixed. These bugs included cases where the trading system filled orders when no cash was available in an account and behavior by the automated market maker that allowed manipulation of stock prices to near infinity.
The portfolio page now updates automatically. However, the net worth rank on the portfolio page is not updated. Please check the rankings page for a real-time update of your ranking.
The watchlist feature is now active. The watchlist is an easy to use feature that allows you to keep track of the game stocks you want to quickly access.
Clicking "Add to Watchlist" on any game will now store the game in your personal watchlist that is easy to access from the Watchlist button in the stocks sidebar. The system messages window will dynamically update you that the game was successfully added to your Watchlist. Clicking on the icon will remove the game from your Watchlist. You will also receive a dynamic update in the system messages window if the removal was completed successfully.
Bugs regarding the AJAX trading system have been fixed so that trading is more responsive, system messages will appear with every order, and price updates will appear consistently. When searching by platform or genre, stock prices and price changes will update automatically without refreshing.
The automated market maker has been better optimized in how it provides prices and should be less susceptible to manipulation. General improvements have been made to presentation of data in the Order Book and System Messages. Other general improvements include incremental presentation and content fixes.
