The simExchange website has been buffed by the Web 2.0 fairy. Following user feedback, the new website features a brighter bolder look with all the Web 2.0 lookiness that has become so hip. Everything should be as easily accessible as it ever was (unless you don’t think something is easily accessible, then you should let us know).
Beyond our impossible to miss new logo, brighter and clearer tables, and more color-coded information, you will find that the stock charts have been upgraded into true candlestick form. The new stock charts let you quickly see how a stock traded intra-day (each stick indicates the opening price, the intraday low, intraday high, and closing price). If a stock was up or unchanged the bar is green and if the stock was down the bar is red. Mousing over the chart will now display the exact price represented by the chart bars.
The Game News page now first displays most valued (most highly bid for) articles, images, and videos. Previously, the page only displayed the most valued articles. You can now also quickly see which images and videos are getting the most bids, just like you could with articles.
As requested, your Portfolio page now displays today’s change in the positions tables. Note this is today’s change in value of your position and not the stock price. For long positions, this would be the same figure, but for short positions, it is the opposite value. For example, if a stock you are short is down 3% today, your portfolio will show that your short position is up 3% today.
The Content 50 Rankings page now includes the number of Up Bids and Down Bids the player has received.
The new website looks best in Internet Explorer 7, Safari 2, Firefox 2 for Windows (with Clear Type enabled) and Mac, Camino, and Opera 9 for Mac. The website has been tested to work in Internet Explorer 6. Please report any problems you encounter using the Question Form and include your browser and operating system.

Nintendo Co Ltd.'s (ADR: NTDOY) Kirby: Squeak Squad (DS) saw its shares tumble 9.12% yesterday following January sales numbers that disappointed traders. Shares had risen dramatically over the past month following blockbuster first month of sales in December, selling 240,500 copies in North America according to VGcharts. This, combined with strong sales in Japan, totaled 1,095,500 copies sold at a point that seemed to be very young in the game’s lifetime.
Many traders had believed Nintendo had another DS success story in the works. However, January numbers point to a sharp drop in demand as Kirby: Squeak Squad only sold 30,000 copies in North America (-87.5% change month-over-month). Such a sharp decline in sales point to a much lower lifetime sales forecast for the game. Shares were down another 0.90% to 155 DKP (forecasts 1.55 million copies sold worldwide over lifetime) at the time of this writing.

The listing was contributed by Elmer92413. The summary of the game is:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl is a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter in which the player takes the role of a fortune seeking S.T.A.L.K.E.R., a treasure hunter armed with futuristic equipment living in "The Zone." "The Zone" is the location of the 1986 Chernobyl meltdown, though the game depicts an alternate reality of the area. The radiation has drastically affected the area resulting in strange animals and even strange physics. You will explore abandoned laboratories and military bases.Update: edogg1982 also contributed to this summary.
The game features non-linear, free roaming gameplay and unscripted AI. Monsters and characters all "live" lives: eating, resting, going about their day, etc. This enables nearly limitless random missions as any combination of events can result in something different happening, such as the player coming upon S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s on a treasure hunt encountering monsters who happen to be hunting for food.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. features some role-playing elements. Your character can interact with other NPCs to receive missions and join guilds; however, your character does not improve in attributes or "level" in this game. The game features a comprehensive NPC conversation system in which the player can choose the attitude and tone to respond. Your interactions with NPCs will develop your reputation in The Zone.
The game also features multiplayer supporting up to 32 players. This includes the standard Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes in addition to a unique Artifact hunt mode.
Nintendo Co Ltd's (ADR: NTDOY) Super Paper Mario for the Wii will debut on the simExchange on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. The game will be categorized under the Adventure genre. Shares will open for purchase at 135 DKP (forecasts 1.35 million copies sold worldwide over lifetime). The release is scheduled for April 9, 2007 in North America. The listing was contributed by simulazn and jaded_alyx. The summary of the game is:
Super Paper Mario is the third installment of the Paper Mario series of 2D paper characters in a 3D world (with a dash of RPG elements). Super Paper Mario takes the 2D concept further as a 2D side-scroller / 3D free-roaming hybrid. The game also has some elements of an RPG, but to a lesser extent than previous games.
The basic story is Princess Peach is kidnapped (surprise)! Mario and Luigi rush to Bowser’s castle (the usual suspect) but finds out he was not involved. Instead, a new villain, Count Bleck, is responsible and he caps Luigi and Bowser, leaving Mario to save the day. Bleck forces Peach to marry Bowser, which results in a tear in the universe—a math equation spewing blackhole erupts over the town of Flipside.
Super Paper Mario also allows you to play as Mario, Peach, and Bowser and you can switch between them at anytime. The game is played holding the Wiimote sideways like a traditional controller. The D-pad moves your character and the 2 button jumps. The A button will switch the camera view from 2D to 3D, which is necessary to solve certain puzzles and find hidden paths.
In addition to the usual mushroom and flower power-ups, collecting friends called Pixis grant special abilities such as allowing you to point the Wiimote at an enemy to learn more information. The traditional power-ups play a little differently in Super Paper Mario, with mushrooms restoring health and the star making Mario a giant 8-bit NES Mario who can smash through the stage.
Nintendo Co Ltd's (ADR: NTDOY) Pokémon Diamond and Pearl for the Nintendo DS will debut on the simExchange on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. The two versions of the game will trade as a single stock and be categorized under the Role-playing genre. Shares will open for purchase at 1,250 DKP (forecasts 12.5 million copies combined of the two versions sold worldwide over lifetime). The release of both versions is scheduled for April 22, 2007 in North America. Pokémon Pearl and Diamond were released in Japan on September 28, 2006 and combined have already sold over 4.8 million copies according to VGCharts. The listings were contributed by zukaus, gamer_anthony, Gaara42. The summary of the game is:
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are the fourth generation installments in the Pokémon series of role-playing games where players take the role of up and coming Pokémon trainers hoping to be Pokémon League Champions. Pokémon RPGs have the player’s character building their Pokémon collection (used like summons in many Japanese RPGs) and developing their Pokémon through combat. Diamond and Pearl are essentially the same game but different Pokémon are available in each (Pokémon games have always been released this way).
The player now explores the world from a 3D view, rather than the traditional top-down view. The controls are similar to previous titles, with the d-pad controlling movement and the other buttons performing various functions. The touch screen will be used for four functions outside of battle: a real time clock, a pedometer, standard health readouts, and a calculator. In battle, the touch screen can optionally be used to control your actions.
Diamond/Pearl is set in Sinnoh, which is based on the Hokkaido prefecture of Japan, a snowy mountainous region with three lakes. The story is largely the same. The player can choose between a male or female character and then name him/her. You then start your adventure with a starter Pokémon and journey to various Pokémon gyms to battle their leaders and gain new abilities. The game features eight Pokémon gyms and 107 new Pokémon. Diamond/Pearl also features “Super Contests” where your Pokémon can compete in three rounds of mini games to judge their appearance, dancing ability, and performance. The game also features time of day and week like former Pokémon games.
As the first Pokémon game for the DS, players can now battle against other players and trade their Pokémon over Wi-Fi. Pokémon Diamond/Pearl is the first to include Global Trade Stations located around the game world where players can post their Pokémon up for trading. Diamond/Pearl also offers connectivity with GBA Pokémon games. Players can upload up to six Pokémon per day from their GBA cartridge and let these Pokémon roam free in Diamond/Pearl for them to capture.

Virtua Fighter 5 is the fifth installment of the 3D arcade fighting series by Sega. For those new to the series, Virtua Fighter is a fighting game that pits the player against a slew of characters in a fighting tournament for domination that features more realistic fighting (no fireballs and the like). The game features 17 fighters, of which there are two new characters: Eileen, a Monkey Kung Fu fighter, and El Blaze, a lucha libre wrestler.
The game features an arcade mode (like playing at the arcades), a versus mode (play against a friend), a quest mode (fighting AI controlled players at different difficulties to earn money to buy unlockable items), dojo mode (practice mode that teaches you how to do the moves), and VF.TV where you watch recorded replays from your matches.
Moves in Virtua Fighter 5 are made in a combination of punk, kick, and guard buttons. The game’s fighting system is largely similar to Virtua Fighter 4 but is designed to be faster. Virtua Fighter 5 also allows the player to customize and tweak their characters. The game features 720p graphics and no online play.
